Pre-Trip Planning
Every traveler should be educated on their trip outline. Remember it's your responsibility to know:
- Dates of trip and the time frame at each location.
- Name of each destination including country, city, arrival date, accommodation at destination with contact information.
- Transportation used including dates, type of carrier, name of carrier and contact information.
- Alternative emergency site meeting point in case of program disruption.
- Name of in country partner/host and contact information.
- Contact information for the group leader including all means of communications (cellular, email, social media, satellite phone).

Emergency Services Abroad
Since not every region uses "911" as its emergency contact number, it's always good to write down, save on your cellphone, or commit to memory the local emergency number for your destination. If it's an occasion when you would call "911" in the US for police, fire, and ambulance support, then call the local equivalent.
